Forest House

Interior view of a kitchen and dining area with a wooden dining table, four chairs, a bowl of tomatoes, a brick chimney, hanging industrial-style lights, and large windows allowing natural light.
A house with brick walls and large front windows surrounded by trees. The house has a steep roof with a chimney, and warm interior lighting is visible through the windows.

From the outset, Liz showed an empathy with us as clients, intuitively identifying what we wanted and an empathy with our turn of the 19th century cottage. She knew what we were thinking before we expressed it.

Liz can work with everyone, with tangible professionalism, evident knowledge and quiet assurance, building trust with the planners, the builder, the clients. Always available for telephone calls, zoom conference to both client and builder, she managed the long distance relationship as if she was here all the time.

A new vaulted kitchen space is added to an existing red brick cottage in the Ashdown Forest, Sussex. The new kitchen offers views out to the nearby church spire, a majestic oak tree in the adjacent woodland, and the cottage’s garden. Oak flitch beams support a double height vaulted ceiling and a larch-lined porch overlooking the oak tree.
